Yuthok Mala (101 beads)

from £50.50
sold out

This special mala was handmade in Nepal with 101 beads, making it perfect for Yuthok Nyingthig practitioners who often need to keep track of repetitions of 101 (as opposed to the standard 108).

The number 101 is frequently mentioned in Buddhist medical literature as the number of disorders in each fourfold division of disease types. This was first expounded by the historical Buddha, and was later famously codified in the Four Tantras of Yuthok Yönten Gönpo. The 404 diseases of classical Buddhist and Tibetan Medicine are treated with a variety of means, but the root cause of dis-ease itself is only severed through spiritual development.

Because it’s improper to use an incomplete mala for standard tantric practises, we ask that you please only purchase this mala for Yuthok Nyingthig practice or other practises that specifically call for this number of beads.

Your mala will come wrapped lovingly in a large white khata.
